The pound to euro exchange rate has plummeted to a nine-month low,
yesterday, as fears of a no-deal Brexit grow.
Sterling’s troubles are likely to continue today with the lack of new UK data.
The pound is currently trading at €1.109 against the euro, according to Bloomberg.
Laura Parsons, currency analyst at TorFX, spoke to Express.co.uk regarding the latest exchange rate figures.
The pound also hit its worst levels for a year against the US dollar as fears the UK might end up with a no-deal Brexit intensified.
“With no UK data to lend a helping hand today the pound’s struggles are likely to continue ahead of Friday’s growth report.”
The latest warning against the UK getting a bad Brexit deal has come from Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who recently met Prime Minister Theresa May in Edinburgh.
Adding her voice to others including the National Farmers Union (NFU) and the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC), Sturgeon said:
“With every day that passes, the prospect of a no deal Brexit or a Brexit with very, very little information about the future relationship seems to become more and more likely.
